Hi, the picture looks so good. It almost looks like metalic pink. Anyways, what do you suggest a center piece for traditional arabic dinner style? As you are in an arabic country you might know it better! Thanks for your inspiration as always! kira
Well traditionally we don't use flowers, but with the influx of European education in the 50's and 60's, it has been very common to see English and French floral arrangements on tables, Kuwait is part of the Gulf States of the Middle East, and we have rich cultural elements that can be taken and used to create wonderful centerpieces if you wanted to, like wrapping glass vases in Sadu (traditional woven cloth) and filling the vases with jasmine and gardenia flowers, also it is very common for tea roses to grow in our gardens so you could also use those. I would also suggest using a large flat piece of mirror, the size of your table and placing a wooden "mashrabiya" piece on top of it. ( a mashrabiya is an Islamic patterned trellis) , then placing a large pice of glass on top, so you would have a layering effect, then fll up the table with candles, small pots of gardenias, small bowls of dates,unbaked/unpeeled almonds in water, olives, fresh cut vegetales, cheeses and some small pieces of Iranian bread. We tend to always have these items on our tables at night or for breakfast, so you can incorporate this for a tapas night, serve lemon with mint and rose water as a drink too! ill email you some images of set ups for more inspiration. hope that helped!
Great! Sounds very fascinating, and so happy to know what Mashrabiya is, I was always wondering the name and even thought to have it for wall decor once. If you have the picture of the set up it would be great for me to imagine it better! Defiantly those flower suggestions I would try out. Anyways, I think I am going for Maroon/Gold-ish for theme color as I was told this is the common decor color for such theme. Rose water sounds very exotic! Thanks again, and really do admire your work! kira
