My birthday cake from Sugar and Spice. Plain chocolate and Vanilla. They have the best icing ever.
5- you have 30 kd and you need to feed 20 guests, what do you do? where do you go?
Buy falafil, hummos, foul, fresh tomatoes, arabic bread, cucumber, mint, zaatar, green olives, and a box of oranges (for juice), and white Baladi/Labneh cheese. And serve them in small colorful and very modern platters to give them a fancy look. I’d get all the above from kanari/sharaf/dodo and the Co-op. And I’m sure I’ll have enough money left to buy Halwa and rahash to serve as dessert (cut in small cubes) with arabic coffee.

There is this shop in Hawalli on Beirut Street opposite to Dar Al Shiffa’a Hospital, not sure what its name is, but we call it Baya’a Al Ward because it’s located right below a florist shop. It has allll sorts of material for hosting an event or a party such as gift boxes/bags for favors, ribbons, glue gun, baskets, charms… etc. And they’re very cheap price wise.
